SUMMARY:Operating your business with sustained profitability in a recessionary market
DESCRIPTION:Register now»\nOnce you register you will receive confirmation from CKCA’s database email (ckca@wildapricot.org) – MAKE SURE you receive this – check your spam. \nAgenda  \n1:00 pm – 1:10 pm – Opening Remarks\, Intros  \n1:10 pm – 1:45 pm – Presentation by Yohaan Thommy\, MNP   \nMany businesses achieve early success through entrepreneurial drive and strong product-market fit—but as they grow\, profitability and productivity often plateau. The complexity of scale brings hidden costs\, diluted focus\, and inconsistent execution. Leaders frequently ask\, “How do I manage my costs when revenue is stagnant or declining?” or “What’s preventing us from operating at full potential?” This session is designed to explore the two most common bottlenecks to sustainable scale: profitability leakage and productivity drag. We’ll examine the hidden forces that erode performance and introduce tools to strengthen management systems\, improve resource utilization\, and unlock profitable growth. \n1:45 pm – 2:00 pm – Discussion with Q&A – Next Steps \nKey Learning Areas: \n\nScaling with Profit in Mind – Why growing revenue is not the same as growing profit\, and how to align your business model\, cost structure\, and delivery operations to scale with intention.\nDiagnosing Profitability Leaks – Explore common mistakes like under-tracking unit economics\, overbuilding teams\, and misaligned investments—and how to spot them early.\nUnlocking Productivity Gains – How companies unintentionally lose up to 30% of output due to role confusion\, poor systems\, and over-reliance on meetings and managers.\nThe Labour & Talent Bottleneck – Understanding how talent gaps—not just workforce size—limit scale\, and what forward-looking businesses are doing to bridge that gap.\nProcess and Tech Enablers – Identifying the management processes\, technologies\, and business systems that create structure without red tape—and build a foundation for scale.\nLessons from Scaling Organizations – Real-world examples of how mid-sized and enterprise organizations have used process\, performance\, and leadership alignment to improve outcomes.\n\n  \n

SUMMARY:CKCA Regional Event - Quebec May 13-15\, 2024 - A great success!
DESCRIPTION:Final Program \nWe welcomed 120 attendees to our Eastern Regional Event held in Orford\, QC\, May 13-15\, 2024. You must have attended the conference to receive the attendee list. Please contact sandra@ckca.ca for a copy of the list. \nBased on the feedback\, this event was rated “Excellent” to “Very Good” by those attending. Some comments included: \n“A total eye opener by attending this conference. I was educated on how large this industry actually is\, the growing pains other companies have gone through\, ie triumphs and failures\, company cultures (staff). Issues the industry is facing which I was unaware of. This conference made me want learn more and perhaps be more involved/educated on and within the industry and within my own company\, ie what changes can be made within and externally to assist with growth as now I know how large the network really is. To know that we have an industry which can network within and externally to help each other on all platforms of issues/growth/ideas etc. was fantastic!“ \nThis event was a great success thanks to the plant tour hosts: Tafisa\, Fabridor\, Cabico and Granit Design. They graciously allowed us to tour as a big group and they were well organized and welcoming. Here’s a video of the tour at Fabridor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHVIVXDZcYU \nWe are also very grateful to our sponsors who provided tremendous support – we can’t deliver these valuable events without their support! \n       \n      \n  \n \n
